We spent Wednesday getting ready for the trip. Keith didn't go to the Wednesday morning Indoor Cycling Spin Class as he didn't want to risk getting hurt just before the start of our trip. At around 9:30 AM we were surprised when the doorbell rang and four of the regulars from the Indoor Cycling Class stopped by to wish us a Bon Voyage. They sang to Keith and gave us a couple of items. One of them will appear in a photo or two during the course of this trip so stay tuned for that.
Keith is really going to miss everyone. Thanks so very much to Jamie, Jan (JK), Shelly and Jan (Sharky) for thinking of us. You are all wonderful!

We awoke very early Thursday morning. Keith was up first and then Anne Marie was up about forty-five minutes later. With a 3:30 AM pickup to take us to the airport, it was definitely early. As it turned out the driver arrived at 3:00 AM. At that time of day there were no vehicles on the road as we made it out of the community. The only others out and about that we could see where the deer who roam our community. Traffic was fairly light as we made our way over to the airport.
We enjoyed a nice conversation with the driver. He and his wife moved here from Minnesota so she could take a position eight years ago as a Director in Finance for Dell and he is a former school teacher.
There was almost no traffic on the highway so we made it to the airport in no time.
The cruise line made the arrangement for the vehicle and it easily accommodate all of our luggage in the back and it could seat up to 12 people in the interior.
Check-in was a breeze at the airport and when we arrived at security there was only one person in front of us so we made it through security in very short order. They used the new machines to do a body scan.
Before getting to our gate we stopped to take a couple of photos and as you can see there was no one in the immediate area.

The good news is our first flight from Austin to DFW left and arrived a few minutes early. We had a two hour layover at DFW and we each had oatmeal and some coffee to tide us over. Our flight to Miami took off about twenty minutes late as they need to replace a seat belt but we made up some of the time and were only a few minutes late arriving to Miami.
As we were waiting for the plane to depart Anne Marie saw them loading the luggage and for the first time ever she saw our very own luggage (all ten pieces) being loaded on the plane.
After we landed and collected our luggage it was off to the hotel. The good news is that our room was ready. After freshening up we went on a walk and then started to pick up some of the items we will need for the voyage that we didn't take with us. We'll do more of that tomorrow as well.
We enjoyed a nice dinner at an Italian Restaurant that we have dined at on prior stays. It has that family feel to it. Food is very healthy and the staff is just very nice. It was quite busy as this evening was Pasta night with various pasta entrees at special prices. We each had a nice salad and we each had salmon as an entree.
On our way back to the hotel it was nice to see parts of the area lit up for Christmas.
We are thrilled to be here and to have the flights behind us and rest assured we will sleep very well tonight.
