Slept Well ✔ Took More Long Walks Including One To The Port Of Miami ✔ Went To A Craft Fair ✔ Wonderful Weather ✔ Enjoyed Our Third Full Day In Miami ✔ Attending A Sporting Event This Evening ✔
We are posting earlier as we are going to a sporting event this evening.
We thought we would begin with a few additional photos from yesterday.
One of the photos shows one of the outdoor public areas at the Fontainebleau Hotel. There are several pools in the back of the property along with the pristine beach area and the ocean
Directly across from the Fontainebleau Hotel is the inter-coastal waterway.
This is the view of the skyline and the small bridge that we walk over from Claughton Island in the late afternoon. It is a four land bridge with a pedestrian walkway on both sides of the bridge.
We wanted to mention that one of the things that we really enjoy about walking is that you tend to have time to take in all that is around you. Last evening during our walk we passed a Catholic Church where we saw a bride standing outside with a man who appeared to be her father getting ready to walk up the aisle for her wedding. At the same time, when we walked outside to the read of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel we saw several workers putting the final touches in preparation for an outdoor wedding later that evening. We saw them working the day before and this time we saw how beautiful the set up looked including more flowers than we think we have ever seen for a wedding. We hope that both marriages will be successful.
Once again, after all of the walking we had done, we had no trouble falling asleep last evening.
We began the day with breakfast in our room. While Anne Marie set the table, Keith took the elevator down to the lobby (yes that's Keith's shoes in the elevator) to bring some coffee back to the room.
Our first destination this morning was the Port Of Miami and we walked all the way over to the terminal area. Three ships were in port including two Carnival and one Norwegian Cruise Line Ship.
Our next destination was a local craft fair held at the Mary Brickell Village, which we also had visited during our last stay in Miami. We browsed many of the craft tables and the good news is we didn't make any purchases.
We then picked up lunch to bring back to the room. After lunch we went back out to pick up a couple of items at the store for the voyage. We think we now have everything we need.
This afternoon we are getting ourselves organized by packing those items that we have purchased over the past few days for the voyage.
This evening we will be attending a pre-season NBA game between the Miami Heat and the Orlando Magic. We will have dinner at the American Airlines Center before the start of the game. The game begins at 6:00 PM and the doors to the arena will open at 5:00 PM. We plan to walk over to the arena. The arena is located across the street from Bayside and very close to the bridge that takes you over to the Port Of Miami.
